What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, focusing on improving physical performance, flexibility, and overall movement efficiency. It plays a key role in injury prevention by identifying muscle imbalances and movement dysfunctions that could lead to injury. Kinesiologists are experts in sports injury rehabilitation, helping individuals recover from injuries by creating personalized exercise and treatment plans. In addition to rehabilitation, kinesiology supports overall health and wellness by promoting proper posture, improving strength, and enhancing flexibility.
What can I expect?
During your kinesiology sessions, you can expect guided exercises that are tailored to you and are designed to improve your movement and strength. The session will typically begin with an assessment of your current physical condition, where the kinesiologist will observe your posture, range of motion, and any specific issues you may have. They’ll then lead you through exercises that target areas needing improvement, such as strengthening weak muscles, improving flexibility, or correcting movement patterns that could lead to injury.
If you're recovering from an injury, the session may also include rehabilitation exercises tailored to you. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and receive feedback on how to improve your movements outside of the session. Each session is designed to be interactive and focused on your personal goals, helping you build confidence in your body’s ability to move efficiently and pain-free.
Kinesiology sessions may be held in either a gym or pool setting. Please speak with your kinesiologist or contact us to learn more about the services our kinesiologists offer.
